Our Horses

Future showjumping legends, raised on the hills of Abruzzo. Our horses are the heart of Sorelle Horses — our sister project dedicated to breeding exceptional sport horses, naturally.

Sorelle Horses mares and foals on the hills of Abruzzo

🐎 Meet Sorelle Horses

The horses you'll meet on our land belong to Sorelle Horses, the breeding programme founded by sisters Katinka and Celine Disch. From a regenerative farm in the hills of Bisenti, they breed sport horses with the potential to excel at the highest level of showjumping — uniting nature and nurture in the heart of Italy.

Every horse here reflects the same philosophy that runs through the whole farm: work with the land, not against it. The foals grow up outdoors, moving freely across varied terrain, developing strength and balance the way nature intended. You can explore the full programme, the bloodlines and the latest news on the dedicated Sorelle Horses website.

🏆 Breeding High-Quality Showjumping Horses

At Sorelle Horses, breeding choices are made with intention — combining athleticism, scope and rideability with proven genetics. Mares and stallions are carefully selected on performance, temperament and pedigree, working exclusively with renowned European stud books such as Zangersheide, BWP, KWPN and SF.

The aim is simple but demanding: to create horses that are not only competitive in the ring, but also balanced, intelligent and trainable partners. Whether you're a rider, an investor or a breeder, a Sorelle-bred horse offers a foundation built for long-term success in sport. Read more on the Horse Breeding page.

⛰️ Natural Development — Stronger With Every Uphill Stride

Our foals don't just grow here — they get stronger with every uphill stride. The hilly terrain of Abruzzo is part of the training: climbing, descending and moving across uneven ground naturally strengthens muscles, tendons and balance long before a horse ever begins formal work.

This is development the slow, sound way — building physically fit horses with strong bodies and calm, confident minds. It's an approach we share completely with the farm's regenerative philosophy, and you can read about it in detail on the Natural Development page.

"Breeding with tradition, raising with love — uniting nature and nurture for the finest steeds."

🐴 Our Broodmares

The foundation of any breeding programme is its mares. Meet the broodmares of Sorelle Horses — each chosen for her quality, character and bloodline.

🌱 Horses in a Regenerative Landscape

Our horses are not separate from the land — they are part of it. Through rotational grazing, composting and careful pasture management, they help build healthy soil, capture carbon and support biodiversity, exactly as the rest of the farm does.

  • Rotational grazing — horses moved in rhythm with the land, giving pasture time to rest and recover.
  • Natural movement — varied, hilly terrain that builds sound, athletic bodies.
  • Healthy from the ground up — including manure analysis and health monitoring as part of everyday care.
  • Coexistence — sharing a living landscape that is home to the Apennine wolf and a rich web of wildlife.

It's the same belief that defines everything we do: staying close to the diversity and original character of these beautiful Abruzzo hills.
